This policy describes the way Professional Edge Staff and Training collects holds and discloses information about individuals.

Professional Edge Staff and Training is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information in a responsible manner consistent with the National Privacy Principles established by the Privacy Act 1988.

What kind of information do we hold?

Your name address contact phone numbers, employment history, education, qualifications, work preferences, referees and results of skills testing. We also hold information of your work performance, training and workplace disputes.

In cases of contract employment we hold your tax file information and payroll details.

Where we obtain this information

  • CV’s submitted to Professional Edge by candidates as applications for an advertised position
  • CV’s submitted unsolicited
  • Personal information gained from referees
  • Work performance information
  • Information about incidents in the workplace

Use and disclosure of this information

We use this information to assist in securing employment placement, training, assessments (including medical tests) and performance appraisals.

Disclosures

We may disclose your information where we are under a legal duty to do so.

Information Security

Your personal information is stored in a secure area only accessed by our staff. Professional Edge employees that have access to this information are subject to confidentiality obligations.

Access and Correction

Subject to some exceptions set out in the National Privacy Principles, applicants may gain access to personal information held by Professional Edge Staff and Training.

Any person requesting their personal information must verify their identity.

The staff at Professional Edge will endeavour to access your information as quickly as possible but delays can occur whilst searching through storage.

We do refuse access if it would interfere with the privacy rights of other persons or if it breaches any confidentiality that attaches itself to that information.

If applicants wish to obtain access to personal information, a moderate charge will be imposed for providing this.

At any time candidates may request that their information is deleted from our data base. This will be done and confirmed with the applicant.

Some information such as time sheets, payroll details and tax information cannot be deleted.
